Little bags like these are a convenience every home cook will appreciate. We always put whole herbs into stock to be simmered and, sometimes, spices into cider or wine to steep to taste. Making a bouquet garni or sachet d'pices for such purposes is very quick with these drawstring bags, eliminating fussing with cheesecloth and string. The loose weave of the unbleached cotton allows liquid to circulate around the flavourings, while the secure closure keeps the solid pieces together for easy removal. This also makes them good tea bags. One home cook we know puts a half lemon in one of these bags when cooking fish so she can squeeze a little clear juice over each serving just before it goes to the table. After this type of use, you can toss bag and all into the composter because the cotton is biodegradable. Each bag is about 3" x 4" with a 14" string. Sold in packs of 10.
